Handcarved by local artisans in Indonesia, this stunning dragon sculpture is carved from a solid piece of suar wood. This is an interpretation of the Barong, a mythical creature appearing throughout Indonesia, appearing in several forms as a symbol of righteousness and justice. A natural suar finish creates a stunning design and wonderful conversation piece.
While One World Bazaar has been doing business with him since 2010, Wayan has been carving for over 35 years. Typically using suar wood as his medium, Wayan produces beautiful hand-carved pieces alongside his wife and grown children. Wayan also collaborates with other local carvers to work together on large orders they may receive.
